Rory is 6 Months Old!

Oh these poor second kids. Please don't go back and look at Oscar's six month entry because, oh the time I had on my hands back then!

The delightful Rory turned six months old on November 30th, and we are loving all the wiggly, squawky goodness! She has spent the last two weeks intermittently screaming and growing teeth, but other than that she's pretty much all smiles. Rory's diverse catalog of interests includes: rolling, eating her feet, crawling backwards, scamming on her brother's toys, gnawing on other people's faces, and getting grabby with the Christmas tree. We are so proud! :)

Oscar loves it when Gabe brings field vehicles home from work, and the Big White Van is by far his favorite!

Trick or Treat

Our spooky spider and bat hit the streets for trick or treat on Halloween. We visited four houses. Big night!

Rory is Five Months Old

Rory is five months old today! Her current interests include: log-rolling across the floor in the direction of sharp corners/objects; eating; blowing raspberries; volunteering as a "bump" for O to drive his cars over; cooing; and (mostly) sleeping through the night (woo hoo!).

Halloween Parade

Today Rory and I went to O's school to watch their Halloween parade. Oscar was the first person in line (I like to think this is because he was deemed the cutest child in school today). Actually, let's just call him the Grand Marshall. Anyway, things quickly devolved into a hot cat-herding mess. This seemed to make the teachers uneasy, but we spectators found it very entertaining. :)

Field Trip

O had his first field trip for school this week. At the pumpkin patch, his class went on a hayride, navigated a corn maze, read a Halloween story, picked out their very own little pumpkins and decorated them.

Happy Birthday, Oscar!

Oscar had his third birthday on the 18th. He celebrated with a good morning birthday muffin and cupcakes for his preschool classmates. Our little guy is growing up fast. As we've mentioned in previous posts, Oscar has joined academia, and he is proving to be a wonderful, caring big brother to Rory. His current obsession is diggers, though he also has a profound appreciation for steamrollers, cement mixers, bulldozers, cherry pickers, cranes, flatbed trucks, dump trucks, trains, school buses, garbage trucks, airplanes, purple airplanes, helicopters, big white vans, bicycles and motorcycles.

Happy, happy birthday, Oscar. We love you.

First Day of School

Sigh. I just dropped my baby boy off for his first day of preschool. During a thunderstorm. Oscar is scared of thunder. Oh dear.

The last thing I heard after I walked out the classroom door was, "Go see mommy?" Um, it's normal (for me) to cry in the car on the way home, right?
